Advanced Strategic Planning

Strategic planning is never an easy task, and it has gotten complicated with the pandemic. Baseline forecasts of revenue and costs are hard, and who knows whether a second wave or a vaccine will even change anything? Yet decisions must be made. The strategic planning process’s greatest value may be in identifying uncertainties and options even more than laying out a fixed path for the future.

This masterclass will introduce you and your leadership team to two powerful planning methodologies:

Strategic Planning: Create an operational planning document to guide company leaders and employees, and improve the executive team’s ability to identify, prioritize, assign opportunities, and contribute to your company’s improved performance. Leadership team members select high impact alternatives while building support necessary for successful implementation.

Scenario Planning: This “thinking around the corner” meeting helps teams consider alternative futures and prepare a successful response plan no matter the situation. The value of this technique comes from the deep dialogue provoked by different scenarios. The alternate views will help generate new insights about a company and its possible futures. Thinking this way helps prepare contributors to notice and consider emerging ideas before others even perceive any change.

Advanced Project Performance Management

One of the fundamental success factors in project execution is knowing which elements determine real project performance and how to measure them accurately. There is a multitude of metrics that may be measured on any project but, depending on the nature and objectives of the project, only a few of these will establish how well the project is performing.

Projects are usually multi-faceted, meaning they comprise multiple stages, multiple work scopes, and have various interfaces, and as such, measuring and managing the performance of a project requires comprehensive project planning and effective project control. Without this, no project can be accurately measured in terms of how well it is performing, and, by virtue of this, the project’s performance cannot be managed.

This interactive course on Project Performance Management will highlight the added value that can be achieved when effective control mechanisms and performance measurement tools are applied using proven Project Management Techniques. Business Process Re-Engineering

COVID-19 has knocked down businesses around the world. On the one hand, it had employees scrambling for cover as soon as the lockdown was announced, while on the other hand the ensuing panic substantially increased consumer demand. This has necessitated a huge shift in the way organizations manage their business. The new normal is now in full effect.

At this critical time, Business Process Re-Engineering (BPR) can assist organizations in maximizing customer value while minimizing the consumption of resources. Business Process Reengineering involves the radical redesign of core business processes to achieve dramatic improvements in productivity, cycle times and quality. When re-engineering business processes, companies start by learning to see their current processes by constructing ‘as is’ process maps, they then redesign existing processes in order to deliver more value to the customer while producing greater efficiencies for the company together with more rewarding jobs for employees.

  • List the dimensions of customer service and explain how the focus of any improvement activity must focus on the needs of customers;
  • Explain how gaps arise between customer expectations and their perceptions of their experience
  • Identify the customer delivery gaps that will benefit from process re-engineering;
  • Describe how to identify in-process waste and how to reduce/eliminate it;
  • Demonstrate an ability to use a range of process mapping tools to create current state maps;
