Maintenance Shutdown and Turnaround

A maintenance shutdown is a very critical event for industrial facilities due to the large number of resources involved in a short period of time. This characteristic has a direct impact on reliability issues, as well as on occupational health and safety, which can have a direct impact on the safety of the production process.

Therefore, developing a maintenance shutdown plan is vital to ensure the best use of limited resources, so that all activities classified as necessary to be carried out during the period determined for the shutdown are completed according to the service schedule, without any interference or obstacles being created to prevent the main objectives (scope, deadline and cost) of the shutdown from being achieved.

The 12 (twelve) basic principles of the “Planning Function” will be presented, in order to ensure that its fulfillment is carried out in a productive manner for the entire maintenance shutdown project. To complete this learning, the 10 (ten) PMI knowledge areas will also be developed, adding the issues of health, occupational safety and the environment.

The aim is to provide participants with an overview of best practices for implementing performance indicators that allow for better management of results for all measured processes.
