Vibration Analyst “Practitioner” Category 1 Certification Course

This course is based on the ISO 18436-2 certification program vibration analyst category 1 syllabus and is designed to prepare staff for the BINDT PCN VA Cat 1 Certification Exam. VA Cat 1 personnel are qualified to perform a range of simple single-channel machinery vibration condition monitoring and diagnostics of machine activities in accordance with ISO 17359 and ISO 13373-1.

The BINDT PCN Accredited Vibration Analyst Category 1 course is intended for personnel who are new to vibration monitoring and analysis or those who wish to get an introduction to vibration analysis, condition monitoring and maintenance practices. The course focuses on periodic, single channel data collection and analysis for condition based maintenance programs. The BINDT Category 1 vibration analyst examination is optional and can be taken at the end of the course, certification is achieved once you have had six months experience in the field.

Trainer's Background

With more than 30 years of experience, the trainer devoted his career in engineering and maintenance and his experience extend across original equipment manufacturing, beverage production, steel fabrication, industrial chemical manufacturing, oil and gas, project management, industrial asset management and industrial consulting and training.

His experience in engineering and maintenance spans from mechanical engineering, strategic asset management to rotating equipment reliability.  He was then a Consultant Engineer for SKF Aberdeen who looked after performance test for pumps, condition monitoring of rotating equipment using vibration and oil analysis. He then worked as maintenance Consultant and Technical Manager AVT Technology Ltd.

The trainer have developed a condition monitoring training center for internal and external clients at AVT’s offices in Aberdeen, as well as developing advanced level diagnostic courses, reliability centered maintenance training and training modules for both Vibration Analysis Cat I and Cat II for companies like SKF, ESG, TUV Rheinland, Petrofac, AMCC Services, Rockwell Automation just to name a few. He also work as a Senior Consultant and has a technical authority role being responsible for providing technical support and advanced level diagnostics, on-site reliability and FMECA audits and optimizing vibration analysis and lubrication programs.
