Oil and Gas Resources and Reserves Methodology, Estimation and Management

In this course, participants learn to estimate petroleum reserves using SEC and SPE/WPC Definitions, guidelines and latest interpretations. The trainer will present the main reservoir engineering and geoscience methods used to estimate reserves, and demonstrate how definitions affect such estimates. Case studies are used to illustrate different methods for estimating reserves, along with typical errors and how to avoid them. Participants will also learn supplemental techniques such as reservoir simulation and probabilistic methods for estimating reserves.

This course will serve as a platform for putting together the various elements of ideas and concepts, approaches and technologies for current Reserves and Resources Estimation and reporting. Discussions will provide the participants with a basis for developing their own integrated workflow and solutions to estimate oil and gas Reserves and Resources and for planning cost effective field development.
